About Consilium

Consilium Academies is a multi-academy Trust working across the North of England. It has nine academy schools located in Yorkshire, the North West, and the North East. Consilium is dedicated to enriching lives and inspiring ambitions for both students and colleagues.

We aim to provide the highest quality careers education, independent advice and guidance possible to raise the aspirations of our students and ensure they reach their full potential.

We help students to

  • find out about careers and the world of work

  • develop employability skills

  • take responsibility for planning their own career pathway

This is delivered in a variety of ways including

  • PSRE lessons 

  • Assemblies

  • Visits to and from employers, colleges and universities

  • Inspirational speakers for schools

  • Virtual Work Experience

  • One-to one careers interviews

  • Activities delivered within curriculum areas.

  • Visits to workplaces and encounters with employers 

  • Enterprise Advisory

  • Annual Careers Fair 1st February 2022 4pm-6.30pm

  • Events held in school eg. BBC Schools Tour, Destination success, The Buzz, Life Skills by Barclays, Careers fair, Post 16 Options events, NCS, ASK Apprenticeship, FutureMe, NHS, SEATA, Sunderland Software City and Nissan.

 

Part-time work is a great way to build your cv, gain valuable experience and earn some money.

There are strict rules about the hours young people can work and the types of work they can do. These rules exist to protect them and stop employers asking them to do too much. Gateshead Council are responsible for enforcing the Child Employment laws within our area. The employer of any school-age child is required to apply for a work permit before the child starts work, for the most recent rules, Click here Our Careers Advisor Claire Bell, is available throughout the year to support pupils in all year groups. All students will have an individual guidance meeting in year 10 or 11 and all pupils in year 9 will be supported in making informed choices about their GCSE options.
