Martyn Searles is our Assistant Head Teacher with responsibility for Personal Development and Careers. There is also a Career Adviser and a Career Coordinator.

The Educational Development Trust provides information, advice and guidance to help pupils to make realistic choices about their education, training and work. A career adviser will provide impartial job, training and study-related advice in order to help pupils make decisions about their future and reach their full potential.

You will learn about careers through:

  • Work done in PSRE lessons and Form Time

  • STEM (Science, Technology, Maths and Engineering) activities

  • Activities are provided by employers and other agencies, these vary but some companies that we have strong encounters with are Northumbrian Water, STEMPIECE TRUST, 4 schools, NHS, North East Museums, Beamish and Clifford Chance.

  • Work linking careers to the different subjects you study

  • Morrisby Careers - https://app.morrisby.com/login

  • Themed events eg. Careers Fair and Work Experience, Life Skills and College days

  • Co-curricular activities

  • One-to-one career guidance
